Movie of the week : Groundhog Day

The Movie of the week moves on Groundhog Day, a comedy with Bill Murray and Andy MacDowell. The movie's been released (long long time ago...) in 1993.

Summary :
As a cynical weatherman, Phil Connors (Bill Murray) finds himself trapped by a blizzard he failed to predict and doomed to repeat the worst day of his life over and over again. At first he is horrified at the prospect of living forever in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, home of the groundhog, but eventually he must discover the key to moving his life forward.

The movie of the week's back, and we move on another atmosphere, we go high, really high with Alien the 8th passenger. This Ridley Scott's movie's been produced in 1979. No need to give more details about this monument of science fiction, judge by yourself !

Summary :
While returning from a deep-space mission, the crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo is awakened by a supposed SOS call from a system they are passing through. Descending to the planet's surface, they discover a strange derelict spaceship - the apparent source of the transmission - and one of the crew descends into the hold. What he finds are thousands of strange alien eggs. While examining one of the eggs, it hatches and the parasite inside attacks him. After returning to the Nostromo the crew takes off again to head for Earth. The alien parasite subsequently dies and all seems well again. But what no one knows is that another alien is quietly forming within its host - and when it emerges, the crew finds itself in serious trouble...

The movie of the week is available ! a bit late we have say...apologize . Coming after Shaun Of The Dead is not so easy...let's move on another monument. This week you'll have the chance to review Bad Boys the first opus. The first successful movie for Will Smith has been released in 1995 (yeah we got to say we're not young teenagers anymore ! ) And how to be deceived with a Michael Bay production (of that time)?

Summary :
Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are two Miami cops who watch as 100 million dollars in heroin, from the biggest drug bust of their careers, is stolen out of the basement of police headquarters.

Summary and opinion: Wikipedia : Jin is a mysterious boy. He lives with his grandfather as single parent. One day a mysterious professor is trying to get their hands on the young child. Meanwhile, a serial killer is terrifying citizens in the city. He will be confronted with attempts to generate human artificial failed, giving rise to this monster mutants with extraordinary powers. The purpose of this manga is to find, for each of these heroes, a different meaning of justice.
Between shonen and seinen, Masakazu Katsura's story is just as wonderful as its previous manga, such as Video Girl Aï or DNA². Scenario, drawing, etc...everything's fine, everything's beautiful. Still in progress you'll probably find the 10th volume as the 11th is already available in Japan.

I like: Masakazu Katsura's creation
I don't like: to be waiting for next chapters...

After a violent Scarface, lets move a more violent one but humourous too : Shaun of the Dead ; an exaggerated representation of horror zombie films.

Summary :
A romantic zombie comedy this film centers around a young man whose only goal in life is to hang out in his local pub. That changes when he is challenged to win back his girlfriends heart - as well as fight the hordes of zombies who mysteriously start taking over his beloved north london neighborhood.

CD audio in décline in USA

CD audio market is in decline in 2008, and that, since 2000.

New carriers have been created since there, especially numeric versions which can be dowloaded directly on websites. However the offer is different from the request and it's time to innovate to attract customers , because the whole sales decreased about 15% in 2008 compared with the previous year.
For the record, for a album sold 20-25€, the artiste earn about 0.6 € ... |

In USA, CD audio sales represent 80% of the turnover, this 25 years old carriers is in a decline, about 20% in 2008 while numeric offers is raising to about 30%.
Purchases of music tracks in Apple platforms(ITunes) are increasing too. In the same way, vinyl sales have been multiplied by two but stay smaller than others means.

New concepts are comming now like the possibility to download for nothing music and to "encourage" artists, music sales from artists to customer directly to reduce costs of saling and to enhance artist remuneration...

Movie of the week : Yipikai with John McClane !

The movie of the week is in its last 2008 release even after Christmas! Let's stay and focus on these celebrations but with John McClane in Die Hard. The first part of Die Hard is one of the best action film ever realized. No need to keep giving such details, Bruce Willis' well known and troubles at Nakatomi Plaza's Tower are well known too...

Bruce Willis stars as New York City Detective John McClane, newly arrived in Los Angeles to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia). But as Mclane waits for his wife's office party to break up, terrorist take control of the building. The movie of the week goes on even during Christmas and the New Year times ! And to fit with circumstances you'll have the oppotunity to watch Nicktmare before christmas ! With wonderful ideas, scenario, realization and Jack's voice, Danny Elfman's music, this Tim Burton's film will stay a masterpiece forever. This unique animation will maybe make you feel strange if it's your first time, realized by steps, looks like a jerky movie (released in 1994) and the main part of dialogs are sang.

Summary :
"Halloween Town" is a dream world filled with citizens such as deformed monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, vampires, werewolves, and witches. Jack Skellington ("The Pumpkin King") leads them in a frightful celebration every Halloween, but he has grown tired of the same routine year after year. Wandering in the forest outside the town center, he accidentally opens a portal to "Christmas Town". Impressed by the feeling and style of Christmas, Jack presents his findings and his (somewhat limited) understanding of the holiday to the Halloween Town residents. They fail to grasp his meaning and compare everything he says to their idea of Halloween. He reluctantly decides to play along and announces that they will take over Christmas.
